After you have made a decision about which type of IRA plan you need to open, you then need to decide the term of the certificate you want to put in the IRA plan.

IRA Share Certificate
This certificate requires a minimum deposit of $500.00 and terms from 18 months to 5 years. The dividends are paid monthly and at maturity. The dividends are posted on the 1st day of each month and at maturity. In the event of a withdrawal prior to maturity or before all IRS requirements are met, the credit union and also IRS may impose a penalty. Consult your tax advisor prior to any early withdrawal. IRA Payroll Deduction Share Certificate
This certificate requires a minimum deposit of $25.00 per payday and the terms available are 15 months and 24 months. The dividends are paid monthly and at maturity. The dividends are posted on the 1st day of each month and on the maturity date. In the event of a withdrawal prior to maturity or before all IRS requirements are met, the credit union and also IRS may impose a penalty.
